Email on Smart Phones
Smart Phones provide the user the ability to connect to and surf the internet. Many people already commonly use their smart phones to access their emails through web browsers. Using a web browser to connect to email is a convenient solution when one is away from their computer and thus not using Outlook as their point of access. But why use a web browser when the email server can be directly linked to the phone, thus providing the same quick access and ease of use as if connecting from a PC.
Connecting Email to Smart Phones
Connecting the smart phone to a Microsoft Exchange Mail Server is quick and easy; it can literally be completed in a matter of minutes. For this example, assume the mobile device is a Blackberry or iPhone and that the mail server being connected is Microsoft Exchange. The steps are as follows:
- Go to 'Settings'
- Go to 'Mail / Contacts / Calendars'
- Select 'Add Account'
At this point, all the user needs to do is enter the information that the smart phone is requesting:
