Traditional bridal bouquets have usually been muted shades of pink, lavender or white; today, the choice of colors for wedding bouquets is more diverse and often daring. Today's bride can choose from bright bridal bouquet colors of yellow, orange and red, in addition to traditional white and ivory. The choice of flowers in wedding bouquets is varied too; although rose remains the most popular wedding flower for bridal bouquets, less traditional flowers such as tulip, hydrangea and sunflower are becoming popular too.
Choosing the Color of Flowers for Bridal Bouquets
Many brides choose to match the color of the bridal bouquet to the wedding dress color; as traditional wedding dresses are white or ivory in color, this often results in similar colors in the bridal bouquet, and limits the choice of flowers in bridal bouquets too.
Today, however, not only are wedding dresses in various colors becoming more popular, bridal bouquets are too; although matching both wedding dress and bridal bouquet is favorable to many brides, it is also possible to contrast the color of the bridal dress with the wedding bouquet, adding many vibrant colors to a wedding.
